Greetings from Venice!

After two blissful days spent wandering through the streets of Venice (we arrived a few days early so that we could settle in and enjoy the city while ridding ourselves of jet lag) we have been given a boost of excitement about boarding The Carnival Magic tomorrow because we caught our first glimpse of it today! It wasn’t too hard to spot – the ship is HUGE! And it really does look all shiny and new! What a thrill to see it parked and waiting for us next to one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

So Venice… what a place. Miles and miles of picture perfect meandering pedestrian streets and canals lined with little shops and restaurants. Every once and a while we come across a spot in a square or along a canal to sit and take it all in. We like to imagine what it might be like to live here… moving must be a chore! Lugging all of your belongings from a boat through the uneven cobble stone streets, up the little bridges and back down, through the squares and down the back alleys – anyone who is lucky enough to move to Venice must also be really determined to do so! Which brings us to our first travel tip: If you are visiting Venice and staying in a hotel, bring luggage on wheels. Trust us, you will be glad you did!
We will have a video up soon featuring our time spent in Venice so stay tuned for that! In the mean time, buena sera and good night!
