The Order

We’ve been wanting to create this video since we ended our road-trip in December. This is the order in which we visited every State, Province, and Territory in Canada and the United States as controlled by YOU, the followers of alexandluke.com.

Enjoy,
alex and luke.

PS: The First Band/Person to create a YouTube video of them covering the song used in this video gets an alexandluke.com prize.

Favourite Follower Friday #FFF

Posted on June 18th, 2010 in FFF,Kentucky,North Carolina by luke

Our favourite followers this week are Bob and Jane McLaughlin. We met Bob and Jane at the Wig Wam hotel in Cave City, Kentucky as they were occupying the Wig Wam neighbouring ours.

Our car (Burt Reynolds) is an easy conversation starter, and after it started we quickly became very happy! They were such wonderful people, with great stories, and (hopefully) great recommendations. Bob has been to every state in the United States except for North Dakota and Hawaii, and he had recommendations that we can’t wait to try in nearly as many States as he has visited.

After meeting Bob and Jane they have written us several times with additional recommendations and well wishes.

Bob’s description of the La Posta restaurant in La Mesilla New Mexico has our mouths excited, and some of the sights outlined have made their way on to our ‘Must Do’ list.

Bob and Jane ended one of their e-mails to us with this sentence:
“Go for it all the way and have a great time. You will always remember this trip.”

This might seem like straightforward advice, but in it’s simplicity those are three messages that we occasionally lose sight of due to the noise that sometimes accompanies this experiment/trip.

For their wonderful company both in person and through e-mail Bob and Jane are our followers of the week.

Baby Steps

Posted on February 19th, 2010 in Kentucky,Road Trip by luke

We have the ambitious goal of travelling through every State, Province, and Territory in North America. We are hoping that the people in these regions will help us better see their home-states in a way that we couldn’t without their interaction.  But prior to being able to interact with people in every region it would help to have at least one person from that region know who we are.

To achieve this we have set a much more attainable goal:

Before we visit every region in North America, we want to have a visitor to our website from every region in North America!

We have already made fantastic progress, but starting today we are launching an initiative to pick up the stragglers.

Starting with:

KENTUCKY

Listen up Bluegrass State, we like you, in fact we are really excited to see you in the coming months. But, not a single person that lives in you has found us interesting enough to visit our website yet. Not cool! We posted a deer video for you as we know you have the densest deer population in the states, we purchased a headlamp to navigate your caves, and we love Abraham Lincoln (someone we understand you hold close to your heart). All we want in return is for you to send a single visitor to our site.

We made you this:

We will be checking our Google Analytics tomorrow to see if you have decided to send us someone.

A very excited,

alexandluke.com

alternatively

If any of you reading know someone in Kentucky and direct them to our site, we will owe you one! Let us know if you do and we will make it worth your while.
