It may just be because the delicious meal he suggested is still happily living inside our stomaches, but our favourite follower from this past week is John Patella.
John first became aware of the alexandluke.com project when New Jersey was competing against Pennsylvania for the next State we would visit on our trip. His was one of the votes that contributed to Pennsylvania’s narrow victory, and he has remained engaged ever since on Facebook and Twitter.
We stayed just outside of Princeton, New Jersey last night (a short distance from the town of Cranbury) where John told us we must visit The Blue Rooster Bakery and Cafe for breakfast. John then sent us a picture of a baguette left hostage behind the bar of the restaurant for us:

While we missed breakfast, we made it in time for easily one of our best lunches of the trip. Within 10 minutes of checking in on Gowalla, John pulled up to our patio table on his bike and, after some minutes of conversing, said something along the lines of “This is what social media is all about, meeting up with people who you meet online and forming these relationships”. We couldn’t agree more.
For providing us with an amazing suggestion, giving us bread, and turning an online relationship into a real world one, John is our Favourite Follower of the week.
