The Order

We’ve been wanting to create this video since we ended our road-trip in December. This is the order in which we visited every State, Province, and Territory in Canada and the United States as controlled by YOU, the followers of alexandluke.com.

Enjoy,
alex and luke.

PS: The First Band/Person to create a YouTube video of them covering the song used in this video gets an alexandluke.com prize.

More from Atlantic City!

Posted on May 20th, 2010 in favourites,New Jersey,Suggestions,YouTube by alex

Atlantic City… what can we say? It was everything we imagined and more. This video isn’t very subtle… but Atlantic City isn’t really about subtlety is it, and if they aren’t apologizing for it, then neither will we. Hidden amongst the bright lights, clanging slot machines and kitschy exterior (all of which is great in its own right) Atlantic City really does have a big old heart, and its worth looking for. Go explore it for yourself! But first, check out our video…

And if you do visit Atlantic City, you must also go to Ventnor… its just south of all the hustle and bustle of Atlantic City – the boardwalk actually connects the two cities together so its easy to find. There is a lovely B&B called the Carisbrooke Inn, which makes the BEST breakfast and is a stones throw from the beach! We met some great people there – John the owner is like our honorary New Jersey Uncle now – he made our stay so memorable! And watch this video to meet another local character who had a very specific suggestion for us!

A big thanks goes out to everyone who reached out to us in Atlantic City. To find out more about the places we visited, click on the links below!

Favourite Follower Friday

It may just be because the delicious meal he suggested is still happily living inside our stomaches, but our favourite follower from this past week is John Patella.

John first became aware of the alexandluke.com project when New Jersey was competing against Pennsylvania for the next State we would visit on our trip. His was one of the votes that contributed to Pennsylvania’s narrow victory, and he has remained engaged ever since on Facebook and Twitter.

We stayed just outside of Princeton, New Jersey last night (a short distance from the town of Cranbury) where John told us we must visit The Blue Rooster Bakery and Cafe for breakfast. John then sent us a picture of a baguette left hostage behind the bar of the restaurant for us:

While we missed breakfast, we made it in time for easily one of our best lunches of the trip. Within 10 minutes of checking in on Gowalla, John pulled up to our patio table on his bike and, after some minutes of conversing, said something along the lines of “This is what social media is all about, meeting up with people who you meet online and forming these relationships”. We couldn’t agree more.

For providing us with an amazing suggestion, giving us bread, and turning an online relationship into a real world one, John is our Favourite Follower of the week.
