We’ve been wanting to create this video since we ended our road-trip in December. This is the order in which we visited every State, Province, and Territory in Canada and the United States as controlled by YOU, the followers of alexandluke.com.

We are currently landlocked in North Carolina. We have visited every state surrounding us except for South Carolina and as a result will be traveling south towards South Carolina tonight. We have spent many an hour looking over maps trying to figure out how to put the control into your hands as soon as we cross the border, we have come up with: The Five Days of Voting
We are going to be running City vs. City votes for the next 5 days.
For the next 5 days at around 6:00pm EDT we will be putting up a new city vs. city vote.
For the next 5 days at 12:00pm EDT we will look at which city is winning and then drive there!!!

*Contest Update*
We have had 1 video entry and a gaggle of written entries. We at alexandluke.com are an equal opportunity road trip and want to make sure that the people that wrote to us wanting to win the contest are not persecuted due to technical limitations. We will be publishing a post next Monday with all of the entries (a mixture of written and video), but in the mean time check out the only video entry so far from Ally and Joel below:

Our favourite followers this week are Bob and Jane McLaughlin. We met Bob and Jane at the Wig Wam hotel in Cave City, Kentucky as they were occupying the Wig Wam neighbouring ours.
Our car (Burt Reynolds) is an easy conversation starter, and after it started we quickly became very happy! They were such wonderful people, with great stories, and (hopefully) great recommendations. Bob has been to every state in the United States except for North Dakota and Hawaii, and he had recommendations that we can’t wait to try in nearly as many States as he has visited.
After meeting Bob and Jane they have written us several times with additional recommendations and well wishes.
Bob’s description of the La Posta restaurant in La Mesilla New Mexico has our mouths excited, and some of the sights outlined have made their way on to our ‘Must Do’ list.
Bob and Jane ended one of their e-mails to us with this sentence:
“Go for it all the way and have a great time. You will always remember this trip.”
This might seem like straightforward advice, but in it’s simplicity those are three messages that we occasionally lose sight of due to the noise that sometimes accompanies this experiment/trip.
For their wonderful company both in person and through e-mail Bob and Jane are our followers of the week.
So we arrived at our hotel last night (The Inn on the Biltmore Estate) in Asheville North Carolina and before we knew it the Social Media Gods were shining down on us. First we met James Hills (or @ManTripping), the face behind mantripping.com as we were checking in. Turns out there was a big travel group of social media peeps gathered at the hotel to hear some talks about Biltmore. Then, as we do, we asked a local what we should get up to here in Asheville, and he recommended that we check out the music scene. So we went online to see if anyone was playing in town, and sure enough the one and only ukulele-weilding YouTube sensation Julia Nunes was playing at the Orange Peel! Needless to say, she was great. We have always been fans, but we were totally impressed by her amazing set of pipes! She is a beautiful singer. We snatched up her latest EP, and will be working it into our road trip play list pronto. We can only hope we meet up with her again along the road somewhere.
