Iqaluit is the capital city of Canada’s newest territory Nunavut, and it’s located on Baffin Island, just west of Greenland.  There are many subtle and not so subtle differences to life in the North, and we thought we would explore and share all the fascinating and quirky things we learned during our trip.

Favourite Follower Friday

This week the prestigious alexandluke favourite follower award goes to a girl named Gabrielle. We had the absolute pleasure of meeting Gabrielle in person last weekend after being in touch online since the start of the alexandluke project. Besides being absolutely lovely, she also promises to be a great resource for us when we attempt to voyage way way up north to Nunavut (Canada’s newest Territory) as she herself has recently been there.

Our goal of visiting every state, province, and territory in such a short time period is challenging enough without including Nunavut (and also, of course, Hawaii) but we are determined to make it! As far as we know it isn’t actually possible to drive there AND its rumored that flights to Nunavut are more expensive than flights to Australia! But if we do make it there eventually, at least we have the comfort of knowing that we will have the guidance of our new friend Gabrielle to make the trip a huge success.

So good to meet you Gabrielle! We will be in touch!
