DIRECTIONAL VOTE* international

Posted on April 18th, 2010 in vote by alex and luke

Tomorrow we will be entering Maine. We are very sad to be leaving Canada’s maritimes but are excited to finally make an international project. It’s an exciting time in the camp as we will no longer be on islands that only border one possible region, we will be in the land of opportunity which is appropriate due to how many more opportunities we will have to be pushed and pulled in the directions you vote.

In two weeks we could be in Wyoming, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and in one month we could literally be in any State. Until then our first vote in the United States pits West against South.

West pushes us towards Vermont, New York State, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

South pushes us towards Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York’s Isle of Manhattan, and New Jersey.

We will be running votes much more frequently now that we are in such close proximity to so many different states. Now more than ever you have the power to control where we go, bring up a map of the United States and think of the possibilities: i.e. Where would we be if we have 5 votes south + 3 votes west + 1 vote north + 1 vote east…

We are getting ahead of ourselves, VOTE NOW:

You can vote on our website, or on Twitter using the hashtags below:

Or, click one of the two options above and a tweet will be automatically generated for you.

We are entering very unfamiliar territory, if you have friends, family, acquaintances in the areas that we are entering it would be great if you could tell them about! We need as many suggestions as we can get, and the more people we have in the regions we are visiting who can help us out with suggestions the better our content will be.

warm regards,

I am from Maine. On your travels through I am suggesting that you stop for 20 or 30 minutes in a small down called Brunswick. Down on Maine Street is a VERY popular little shop called the Gelato Fiasco. It is unlike anything you will ever have. They have Gelato (Italian Ice Cream) in many flavors and they make new ones every day. Very good. Very cheep. And an awesome place to be!

Maine is one of Lamonts favorite places. Just North of Kennebunkport on # 9 is Porpoise Point. North Through town continue on Pier Rd to the Very end. Pass Pier 77 Restaurant to the fishing Pier that has a Very casual restaurant called Cape Pier Chowder House. Very inexpensive and it is out of Tourist season so it will not be crowded you can eat outdoors at a picnic table on the pier.
Hopefully it will be as magical as when Karen and I were last there. Oh! and on the way north? You pass George Bush Seniors Summer Home.

Kittery Maine has Warren’s Lobster House. Legendary and Historic …fabulous but not inexpensive. They have a web site: Right on the water. Huge lobster pound.
On your way south Cape Cod is inexpensive as it is out of season and do not ignore Newport! R.I.

I’d head south now, before it gets too hot and while the lovely spring blossoms are out.
