Welcome to alex & luke dot com!

Posted on February 7th, 2010 in YouTube by alex

We are thrilled to have our official site finally up and running to share with you all!   If you have not yet been introduced to us, we are Luke Vigeant and Alexandra Sabine: best friends, travel enthusiasts, social media participants, and conductors of an experiment to see what happens when all of these elements combine. This video better explains what we mean…

Please enjoy exploring our new site – read more about us and how we came up with this idea by clicking on Our Story, see our progress by clicking on Map, understand how we plan on interacting with you throughout the project by clicking on Interact, discover how you can get more involved by clicking on Pledge, and learn how we hope to be able to give back to important causes by clicking on Charity… oh, and don’t forget to check out our daily photos and Gowalla check ins on the side bars and most importantly, help us choose a name for our car by voting in the poll up there on the right!

Thanks for visiting, and we hope you will enjoy coming back again and helping us make this experiment a reality. We depart March 20th – let the countdown begin!

Love the concept. When you get to Utah, stay at the Moab KOA, Tour Arches National Park and hike back to delicate arch. I think you’ll be pleased that you took the time to stop.

There are so many interesting places to go between Toronto and Utah and beyond. It will be interesting to see how your trip progresses.

P.S. Like your choice of outfits –practicle, but the Cub Scout togs were cuter.

Hi if you get a chance to see Sandy Hook Ky it is a beautiful part of the USA, but the people are poor and live a simple life. Gives you a perspective on where you are in the world. Good luck.

Alex and Luke – just discovered you! I live in the Green Bay area… I see you were in Sturgeon Bay! If you will be in Wisconsin for a day or two more, contact me. I’m a teacher and a mom and would be more than willing to give you a hot meal and let you do some laundry! I also have connections to Lambeau Field people… could maybe get you in there!

  17. Peggy said,

    on March 22nd, 2010 at 9:07 pm

Oh wait! I see you’re not in Sturgeon Bay, WISCONSIN (there is a Sturgeon Bay, WI too; it has cool shipyards and is the door to Door County – the peninsula of Wisconsin. Well, my offer still stands. If you make it to Wisconsin, I offer you some ‘house’ time; meals and laundry… and I can provide lots of proof that I’m not some creep (just a mom who hopes that someday her daughter finds the positive when everything seems like such a challenge)! I just keep thinking that if my daughter would do something like this I’d be checking to see that she’s still taking good care of herself (and himself… Luke too!).

Hey Guys! Like many others, I’m sure, I wish I had done what you are doing. I am a fellow Canadian living in Chicago for over 20 years. Come see a Hawks game… my treat. I have often thought Chicago is a sister-city to Toronto…… on the lake, beaches area, great city with many neighborhoods. My boys are your age… so here comes the Mom….. Have fun and, of course, be safe.

You are living the life I love! My daughter and I did the same thing and traveled throughout North America by car. Of all the cities we visited, here are three you cannot miss: Sundance, Utah (home of the horse whisperer). The rest of Utah is great, but Sundance looks like Switzerland. It’s my favorite city in North America and we have spent a total of a year there in the last 8 years. Number two is Sedona, Arizona. It is truly a mystical healing place you won’t forget and a place where you can plan the rest of your life’s journey. And the third is the city of dreams, Beverly Hills, California. It’s a planet of it’s own. Have fun you guys! I am so jealous. I want to get out there on the road again too!

I love road trips, drove with my boyfriend in a honda civic from Toronto to Las Vegas and through Manitoba back home. The best two weeks vacation of our life. Will do it again in a split. Anyways we visited Grand Canyon, Arizona, walked down to the river and back, the best experience ever, something you should do once in your lifetime. Have fun guys and stay safe :)

Come to Salem, MA! So much history – so much to see and do. You must… 1) Take a Trolley Tour, 2) Visit one of the attractions that tells the stories of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692, 3) Climb the secret staircase at the House of the Seven Gables, 4) Look at Nathaniel Hawthorne’s view of the Port of Salem from his former office at the Custom House (National Park Service Salem Maritime NHS), 5) Take a walking tour (haunted or historic… you choose), buy candy at Ye Olde Pepper Candy Companie – America’s oldest!

And that’s just the beginning! Check out http://www.salem.org. We’ll be watching for your car!
